Haiti on the Rise Celebrates its 4th Annual Dinner & Auction

Haiti on the Rise celebrated its 4th Annual Dinner-Auction on Saturday, February 2nd, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco. The elegant affair began with an assortment of hors d’oeuvres accompanied by fine wine donated by the Due Ruscelli Winery and Bar None’s Canyon Vineyard, both in Sonoma County. While celloist Doug Harman was accompanied on the guitar by his son James Harman, guests silently bid on auction items that included a five-day stay in the Sierras, assorted artwork, gift baskets, and vases. Guests also had an opportunity to purchase a variety of handmade Haitian arts & crafts. Dinner consisted of a buffet of home-cooked Haitian foods along with a variety of other French Cuisine. New this year was an address of gratitude by the Vice-Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince. While Haiti on the Rise remains a secular organization, it partners with the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince to ensure funding is securely delivered to its various projects. The evening also featured a video presentation by Haiti on the Rise Founder Jacqueline Oriscar Lee.  Jackie, who travels to Haiti annually, spoke about the organization’s various projects in the area of Port-au-Prince. The video presentation featured the many construction projects the organization supports as well as the scholarship recipients for the 2018–19 school year. After a brief fund-a-need appeal, the evening ended with a rousing performance by the Lighthouse Gospel Singers of Marin.  All in all, the 4th Annual Dinner was a very successful evening!  Thanks to all of you in the Haiti On The Rise family – our guests, donors, musicians & singers, board & advisory members, and volunteers. Our numerous and ongoing projects in Haiti are possible because of you. Thanks again for your continued love and generosity. With all of us as one, we shall impact the world and bring hope to many.

With Love & Gratitude,

Jackie & Randall Lee
