Walkathoners Reach Dingle At End Of Kerry Camino
Our Dingle Walk Stars have reached the half-way point of the walkathon by arriving at the Town of Dingle. Here is a video of Joe Suggs embarking on Day 2 of the walkathon and mentioning its fundraising purpose. They have made it to the Town of Dingle, which is the largest community on the Dingle Peninsula. As posted in an earlier story, Dingle is the western terminus of the Kerry Camino – the pathway that St Brendan the Navigator is believed to have built monastic dwellings upon from 512 to 530 AD. The present-day Kerry Camino begins at St. Johns Roman Catholic Church in Tralee and ends at St. James Church of Ireland in Dingle.

After exploring the area around Dingle, our walkathoners will trek east along the Dingle Way towards Killarney. Support their efforts today and help Haiti On The Rise erect a roof atop of the new high school. During the second-half of the Walkathon, an original, long-time supporter of Haiti On The Rise has pledged to match up to a four-figure dollar amount any donations received at the PayPal Giving Fund page. Please take advantage of this match and support the Walkathon today by going to the following links or QR code below:

We cheer “Sláinte!”, meaning Health! in Irish Gaelic and pronounced Slahn-cha!, to our Dingle Walk Stars for their efforts in helping Haiti On The Rise raise funds to place a roof atop of the new high school. The third & fourth images below show our Dingle Walk Stars enjoying some well-deserved stouts and ales after three rigorous and wet days of hiking. From left to right, our Walkathoners are: Tom B, Marilou M & Larry M, Joe Suggs, Liliana N, Else T, Bridie B, & Kitty O’D. May you all continue to have enriching travels and experiences together through the remainder of your journey.
