Fall 2025 Updates & Happy Thanksgiving!

Roof Construction atop the High School’s 2nd Floor classrooms and corridors (below left) has commenced.  Future roof placement above the 2nd Floor’s Presentation Room (below right) will begin shortly.  Thank you to all who have donated to our High School Construction project over the years and this past summer.  In particular, Joe Suggs of Marin organized and led a 12-day walkathon of the Dingle Peninsula in southwestern Ireland to help raise funds to initiate the roof’s constructionMuch thanks to Joe and the other Dingle Walk Stars – Tom & Bridie B, Larry & Marilou M, Liliana N, Katherine O’D, and Else T – and all supporters of the Walkathon whom have helped Haiti On The Rise begin the 2nd Floor’s crowning with a roof.  The 1st Floor has been used for educational purposes for many months now as shown in this April 2025 video.  Soon, the High School’s 2nd Floor will be used similarly to the 1st Floor due to your support!

In October 2025, our Kindergarten through College Scholarship Program began another academic year.  Assistance for tuition and school supplies is particularly important in Haiti for 85% of the educational institutions there are private and therefore require payments.  Yet many families are unable to send their young students to school because of prevailing socio-economic conditions.  Haiti On The Rise helps such families through our Scholarship Program so that their young students can obtain an education. Pictured below are images of the students at St Raphael in Vialet – a primary school in a rural community north of Port-au-Prince that had been closed due to lack of funding.  Through Haiti On The Rise’s support beginning in 2019, St Raphael was been able to reopen and has provided elementary education and meals for its student body ever since our involvement there.  Please view this 2025 video which presents our Scholarship Program and our Emergency Relief Efforts in Haiti.  Footage of St Raphael in Vialet begins at the 7:45 mark.

On Sunday 11/9 & 11/16, Haiti On The Rise participated at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Alternative Christmas Fair in Tiburon, CA.  This was our fifth consecutive year at this unique holiday event.  Ministries of Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) invite select non-profit organizations in Marin to meet their parishioners and guests and share with them the humanitarian work that we do.  Interested fair-goers can then gift donations to their non-profits of choice to help them with their missions.  Haiti On The Rise is honored to be sponsored by the Women of Westminster (WOW), and thank Lee D of WPC who introduced us to WOW.  Pictured below on the left is Jackie Lee with WOW members Chris H and Susan B.  WOW member Sally P also greeted others with us at the Christmas Fair.  Randall & Jackie Lee are pictured below on the right with Sr Pastor Rob M.  Haiti On The Rise thanks WOW and the entire WPC community for the opportunity to be at the Christmas Fair and demonstrate the progress that we have made in our High School Construction, Scholarship Program, and Food & Healthcare Distribution efforts.  This is largely due to the support from and spirit of WPC!  We are also pleased to present at the Christmas Fair with the other non-profits there who all do phenomenal work: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Bridge the Gap, Center for Domestic Peace, Enriching Lives Through Music (ELM), Humans of San Quentin, Marin Foster Care Association, WPC High School Mission Trip, & WPC Middle School Mission Trip.  Happy Holidays and much love to you and all whom you serve!
