Marin Supporters Begin Walk-A-Thon In Ireland

Eight hikers from Marin County, CA – many of them long-time supporters of Haiti On The Rise – will be engaging in a 12-day Walk-a-thon in southwestern Ireland from August 22nd to September 2nd to benefit our non-profit organization.  They are known as the Dingle Walk Stars as they will be trekking the rugged, yet lovely Dingle Peninsula in Ireland’s County Kerry.  The 8-person group will begin their walk-a-thon in Tralee and venture through the Dingle Peninsula along sections of the Dingle Way walking trail in mostly a counter-clockwise motion until their conclusion in Killarney 12 days later.

Joe Suggs (front row above), whom Jackie & Randall Lee met through Marin Cursillo, has practiced and planned the walk-a-thon so that each kilometer that the 8 of them hike during the 12-day period can help Haiti On The Rise place a roof over the 2nd floor of the high school they are building in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  The 1st floor of the high school is already being used as shown in this April 2025 video of the school on a typical school day.

Please support the Dingle Walk Stars during their 12-day Walk-a-thon so that Haiti On The Rise can complete the 2nd floor of the high school – the only school of its academic level in its neighborhood.  You may donate by credit card using the following links or QR code that go to our PayPal Giving Fund page:

Thank you to all of the Dingle Walk Stars for their considerations, efforts, and support.  May they have safe and enriching experiences throughout their journey.  Together through their endeavors, we can complete the high school and give the gift of Education to present and future generations of promising, young students living in a neighborhood in need.
