3rd Annual Dinner & Auction Was a Great Success!

More than 125 supporters attended the 3rd Annual Haiti On The Rise Dinner & Auction on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018.  As in previous years, the annual gala was held at the ornate St Mary’s Cathedral Convention Center in San Francisco.  The evening reception began with an assortment of delicious hors d’oeuvres and fine wines, including selections from Due Ruscelli Winery of Healdsburg, CA.  Attendees strolled through the Silent Auction Gallery which featured authentic Haitian arts & crafts and other artistic pieces as the father-and-son duet of Doug & James Harman performed live music.

Served in a buffet setting, the dinner featured a number of authentic and popular Haitian dishes. As the dinner and dessert concluded, a short film documented the major progress that Haiti On The Rise had accomplished during the previous year – the completion of the St Joseph Community Center in Port-au-Prince and the awarding of a number of scholarships to students of families in need.  Throughout the evening, Haiti On The Rise acknowledged and thanked its many supporters who have enabled these achievements to be realized.  In fact, it is primarily through the annual dinner & auction that Haiti On The Rise is able to engage in such projects.  The event concluded after the performance of a few songs by the Lighthouse Gospel Singers of Marin.  It was truly a lovely evening. Haiti On The Rise thanks all of its supporters for enabling our all-voluntary organization to accomplish its mission in the areas of reconstruction, education, healthcare, and pastoral endeavors.  Later in 2018, we will be initiating new projects and programs in each of these areas.  Please join us at our 4th Annual Dinner & Auction on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 at St Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco to learn about our latest achievements.  See you then, and thank you for all of your support!
